BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. Member countries
of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have adopted proposal
put forward at the inaugural Meeting of the Ministers in Charge of
Science, Technology, Industry, and Innovation of the Organization
of Turkic States (OTS) to hold the next meeting in Azerbaijan,

Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
"The meeting was attended by an Azerbaijani delegation led by
the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Türkiye's Minister of industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih
Kacir welcomed the guests and wished them success in their work
during the meeting.
He expressed hope that the discussions and bilateral meetings
will be effective and contribute to strengthening ties.
The OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized the
importance of cooperation rooted in the historical and cultural
partnership among the member states and expressed confidence that
the first meeting would be significant for enhancing and activating
interaction.
Speaking a t the event, Jabbarov expressed gratitude to
brotherly Türkiye for its sincere hospitality.
He pointed out that strengthening joint activities among Turkic
states ensures prosperity, economic growth, and sustainable
development for their countries.
Moreover, he stressed that Azerbaijan highly values its
cooperation with Turkic states and supports integration processes
within the Turkic world.
According to him, mutual economic activity forms the basis of
Turkic cooperation.
The first meeting of the ministers of industry, science,
technology, and innovation taking place in Istanbul will be crucial
for developing the non-oil industry, promoting trade and
investment, small and medium-sized enterprises, implementing modern
technologies, and evaluating opportunities to increase initiatives
in the fields of science, innovation, and digitalization, the
minister said.
Jabbarov highlighted that the document 'Azerbaijan 2030:
National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development' defined the
'Clean Environment and the Green Growth Country' direction as one
of the priorities, with significant emphasis on applying
environmentally friendly technologies, recycling waste, and
restoring polluted areas.
As he explained, it's planned to expand the implementation of
environmentally beneficial 'green' technologies.
Besides, according to the minister, steps are being taken to
accelerate development, including the establishment of new
industrial zones by the government in the liberated territories and
the application of incentive packages for entrepreneurs in these
areas, as well as declaring the region a green energy zone.
He also highlighted various global initiatives announced by
Azerbaijan, which will host the 29th session of the Conference of
the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
(COP29) this November.
Jabbarov pointed out a crucial role of investments in ensuring
economic development and macroeconomic stability for the OTS
members.
Consequently, significant steps have been taken in the
investment sector in recent years, and the Turkic Investment Fund
has been established to facilitate the economic development of
member states, he reminded.
Besides, according to the official, Azerbaijani-Uzbek and
Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz investment funds will foster the economic
development of these countries and improve the people's
welfare.
The minister also emphasized the importance of establishing
'green' MSME Resource Centers, conducting research and development
(R&D), and presented information on institutional platforms
that will facilitate access to technologies, knowledge, and
financial resources.
The meeting featured speeches of representatives of the member
states, and following the first meeting of the ministers of
industry, science, technology, and innovation of the OTS, a joint
declaration was adopted," the ministry added.
