Kyrgyzstan Discusses With JICA New Transport Project

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 25. A new
transport project by the Japan International Cooperation Agency
(JICA) was discussed in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of transport of Kyrgyzstan, Deputy
Minister Beknazar Bazaraliev and representatives from JICA held
initial negotiations regarding the construction of a new bridge on
the 315 km Bishkek-Osh highway.
During the meeting, both parties outlined their commitments to
the project. They noted that the additional bridge would facilitate
uninterrupted transportation and enhance the safety of goods and
passengers along the Bishkek-Osh route.
The project is expected to be implemented on a grant basis, with
a strong emphasis on environmental and social considerations during
the bridge's construction.
JICA is an independent agency established in 1974, supporting
the economic and social development of developing countries on
behalf of the Japanese government. In Kyrgyzstan, JICA focuses on
fostering continuous and balanced economic growth to promote the
institutionalization of democracy.
