BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Iran finds it
important to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan, Iranian President
Masoud Pezeshkian said during the reception of Azerbaijani Deputy
Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and his accompanying delegation in
Tehran on October 14, Trend reports.
According to him, the development of relations with Azerbaijan
is very important for Iran. Iran welcomes the separation of rail
and road routes between the two countries and wants to continue and
develop cooperation in the fields of energy and agriculture. Iran
is committed to the agreements reached in this field.
Pezeshkian added that Azerbaijan's territorial integrity should
be respected. Iran believes that the entry of other countries into
the region will not benefit the countries of the region. Because
the countries of the region can solve security and other issues by
cooperating. This is Iran's principled policy, and it always
adheres to it.
Referring to the investigation of the criminal case of the
individual who attacked the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran, the
Iranian President stated that this issue will remain at the center
of attention until the full implementation of legal processes.
Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated at
the meeting that Azerbaijan is ready to develop cooperation with
Iran in the spheres of economy, trade, energy exchange, culture,
transit, improvement of common road and railway lines, security,
and defense.
Mustafayev emphasized that Azerbaijan has no territorial claims
to any country and does not accept claims of any country against
the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Regional problems can be
solved through discussions between the countries of the region.
He stated that Azerbaijan is ready to implement the agreements
reached with Iran and invited the Iranian President to the 29th
Conference of Partners of the UN Framework Convention on Climate
Change (COP29), to be held in Baku soon.
