Azerbaijan Announces Running Date Of World Urban Forum In Baku


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. The World Urban Development Forum in Baku will be held from May 18 through May 22, chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan Anar Guliyev said, Trend reports via the state committee's statement.

He made the statement at a meeting with the Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Program Anacláudia Rossbach within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

“In the meeting, Anar Guliyev pointed out that the dates for the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku in 2026 have been set in stone, running from May 18 to 22.

The meeting shone a light on the necessity of teamwork between the UN Human Settlements Programme and Azerbaijan, especially since the 1st and 2nd Azerbaijan National Urban Development Forums held in 2022 and 2023. These gatherings paved the way for a platform aimed at fostering sustainable urban development in the region. The parties also kicked around ideas on collaborative efforts in the realm of sustainable urban development and set their sights on future goals in this direction,” the statement reads.
