Azerbaijan's Constitutional Court Hosts Session On Approval Of Parliamentary Election Results


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. The session of the plenum of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan on special constitutional proceedings on checkout of the documents submitted by the Central Election Commission and approval of the results of the snap election to the Azerbaijani Parliament is being held, Trend reports.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, Farhad Abdullayev, declared the meeting open. Members of the board and the court secretary were represented at the meeting. Information from the reporting judge on the setting of the date, conduct, and results of the election is heard.

Following the meeting, the parliamentary election results will be approved.

To note, a snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

A total of 112,749 local observers were registered to monitor the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties. The number of registered international observers was 598 people, representing 51 organizations in 69 countries.

Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary election, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Although 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. In total, 676 candidates have political party affiliation.
