BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. Sea cruises are
set to set sail from Russia to Baku, Trend reports via the State Maritime and Port
Agency of Azerbaijan.
This matter was brought to the table during the agency's powwow
with a delegation from Russia's cruise industry bigwig, tour
operator Vodokanal LLC.
The meeting drove home the importance of high-level visits,
meetings, and events between the two countries in building bridges,
underscoring that bolstering cooperation between Azerbaijan and
Russia is a win-win for expanding trade and economic ties, as well
as partnerships in maritime transport.
Vodokanal LLC's plans to build three next-generation cruise
ships under the Karelia project 00840 were also discussed during
the meeting. The ships are expected to be commissioned in
2025–2026, and the company plans to continue its involvement in
cruises to ports in Makhachkala, Aktau, Turkmenbashi, Baku, and
Anzali.
Additionally, during the meeting, which included representatives
from the Baku International Sea Trade Port, issues related to
simplifying ship entry and exit procedures at Azerbaijan's ports
were also reviewed.
