ROME, Italy, September 5. Azerbaijan and Italy
plan to establish joint ventures across various sectors soon,
Manuela Traldi, President of the Italian-Azerbaijani Chamber of
Commerce, told journalists, Trend reports.
"We had many productive and fruitful meetings with our
Azerbaijani colleagues, involving private sector representatives. A
high-level roundtable is also planned, with the participation of
Italy's Minister for enterprise and Azerbaijan's minister of
economy," she said.
Speaking about the work of the chamber, Traldi emphasized that
the organization is focused on attracting investments to
Azerbaijan.
"We are doing this in various ways, promoting Azerbaijan in
Italy, highlighting all opportunities and government support
available, and leveraging every element that could help attract
Italian company investments. We established the Italian-Azerbaijani
Chamber of Commerce back in 2012, with a focus on the Trans
Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project. I was personally convinced that
TAP would eventually be realized, bringing our countries closer
together," said the chamber president.
Traldi added that several projects are currently under
development.
"In this context, we are closely working with Azerbaijani
investment companies, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment
Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and the Ministry of Economy. I believe
the outlook is very positive. We will create joint ventures that
will introduce the most advanced Italian technologies into
Azerbaijan's business and manufacturing environments. This will
further enhance the development and diversification of the
economy," she said.
The chamber president noted that the priority sectors for joint
ventures include the industrial sector, particularly
petrochemicals, as well as metallurgy and agriculture in
Azerbaijan.
"In particular, we have several projects in the pipeline that
will support the further development of agriculture in Azerbaijan.
Additionally, we are developing new projects in healthcare, the
industrial sector, and other areas where Italy has significant
expertise. These include sectors such as agro-food processing, food
production, leather processing, footwear manufacturing, and
textiles," she concluded.
