Uzbekistan, Russia's Tatarstan Discuss Joint Projects In Transport Machine Building Dev't


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 29. Uzbekistan and Russia's Tatarstan discussed the implementation of joint projects in the field of transport machine building development, Trend reports.

The discussion took place during a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Transport, Ilkhom Mahkamov, and representatives of a Tatarstan delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of industry and Trade, Oleg Korobchenko.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the creation of joint capacities for the production of electric trains, passenger cars, and subway cars. Aspects related to the deep localization of production processes were also discussed.

At the same time, the participants agreed to continue joint work on the implementation of promising projects.

Meanwhile, according to the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan last year increased by 27 percent and reached $370 million.

Rustam Minnikhanov discussed with Uzbek representatives the supply of goods by Tatarstan producers and the use of the Ayritom free trade zone.
