Egypt's President Al-Sisi Meets With Apache Corporation Executives


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held a meeting on Monday with John Christmann, CEO of Apache Corporation, and the company's President and CFO Stephen Riney. The meeting was also attended by Karim Badawi, Egyptian Minister of petroleum and Mineral Resources.


An official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting focused on reviewing and following up on Apache's activities in Egypt, as well as discussing the company's plans to expand and increase its business volume in the country.


This discussion continues the long-standing cooperation between Egypt and Apache in the fields of exploration, production, and optimisation of Egypt's energy resources.


During the meeting, President Al-Sisi praised Apache's achievements in Egypt over the past three decades.


He expressed his appreciation for the company's plans to expand its operations in Egypt according to the highest international standards. Al-Sisi also emphasised the state's commitment to strengthening and increasing investments in the energy sector, given Egypt's growing needs in this area.


John Christmann, Apache's CEO, lauded the distinguished partnership with Egypt and affirmed the company's aspiration to enhance efforts to increase production rates in the upcoming period.


He noted the availability of numerous opportunities for new discoveries and highlighted the company's commitment to developing and utilising the latest technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions from production operations.


The meeting also explored ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and the United States, in light of Christmann's chairmanship of the US-Egypt Business Council.


Egypt is keen on providing an appropriate climate to attract and increase investments and facilitate the work of both Egyptian and foreign private sectors in various fields.
