
Armenian Citizens Block Multiple Highways, Booing Delimitation With Azerbaijan
According to the information, the Tigranashen (Kyarki) segmentof the Yerevan-Meghri highway, along with the Martuni section ofthe Yerevan-Sevan highway, were obstructed. Additionally, theYerevan-Gyumri highway faced blockades in Shirak province, while aportion of the Armenian-Georgian highway was blocked inBagratashen.
To note, a few days ago, a group of Armenians protesting againstthe border demarcation process was detained in Tavush. Thedetainees were taken to the Noyemberyan police station. All ofthem, except for political scientist Suren Petrosyan, were laterreleased.
On April 22, five members of the Armenian organization CombatBrotherhood were detained due to the Tavush incidents.
The eighth meeting of the State Commission on State BorderDelimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the Commission onState Border Delimitation and Border Security between Armenia andAzerbaijan was held on April 19, 2024.
The sides tentatively agreed on the passage of certain segmentsof the border line directly between the settlements of Baganis(Armenia) - Baganys Ayrim (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) - AshagyAskipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) – Kheyrimli (Azerbaijan),and Berkaber (Armenia) - Gyzylhajily (Azerbaijan) to bring them inline with the legally justified inter-republican border thatexisted within the Soviet Union at the time of its collapse.
