(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. Construction of aroad connecting the Barda-Aghdam highway with Asgaran town has nowstarted, Trend reports via the State Agency of AzerbaijanAutomobile Roads (AAY).
Construction is underway for an 18-kilometer highway linking the40th kilometer of the Barda-Aghdam highway to Asgaran town (thering road of Aghdam city). This project is being carried out at theII technical level, considering the development plan forKarabakh.
"Currently, excavation operations are progressing on the highwayfollowing the project plan. Specialized equipment is utilized toremove unsuitable soil, widen, and shape the road. Adequatemanpower has been mobilized for this task.
In accordance with the project specifications, various diameterround pipes, culverts, and reserve passages for underground andcommunication lines are being installed along the newly constructedroad to facilitate water transmission.
Upon completion, this highway will enable travelers from Bardato Khankendi, Shusha, and Lachin to bypass Aghdam swiftly andsafely via the ring road.
The construction adheres to the standards outlined in the"Construction Norms and Rules" and follows a predeterminedschedule, overseen by the management of the State Agency ofAzerbaijan Automobile Roads.
The Asgaran Highway is a key infrastructure project within theKarabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, promising tosignificantly contribute to the socio-economic advancement of therecently liberated territories of Azerbaijan," the agency said.
