Azerbaijan Counts Armenia's Cameras Disabled During Anti-Terror Measures (PHOTO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. During the earlyround of local anti-terror measures in Azerbaijan's Karabakh, over200 optical-electronic and surveillance cameras that used to belongto Armenia were disabled, a source in the Azerbaijani Ministry ofDefense told Trend .

According to the source, the Armenian armed forces' tracking andsurveillance systems, which had been detected in advance intrenches, firing positions, strongholds, and permanentdislocations, were eliminated as legitimate military targets duringthe Azerbaijan Army's initial anti-terror measures in the Karabakhregion of Azerbaijan.

The insider also noted that over 200 improvised optoelectronic andsurveillance cameras used by the Armenian armed forces wereinstalled at altitudes of 10-15 and 20-30 meters along the contactline for up to 480 kilometers to monitor the movement of AzerbaijanArmy units and civilians and carry out various provocativeactivities against them.

"Optoelectronic and surveillance cameras of the Armenian armedforces, identified by the intelligence means in the Karabakheconomic region, have been incapacitated by the use ofhigh-precision weapons that are in the armament of the AzerbaijanArmy," the source added.

To note, in order to ensure the provisions of the TrilateralStatement [signed by Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leadersfollowing the second Karabakh war], to stop large-scaleprovocations in the Karabakh economic region, to disarm andwithdraw formations of the Armenian armed forces from theterritories of Azerbaijan, to neutralize their militaryinfrastructure, to ensure the safety of the peaceful populationreturning to the territories liberated from occupation, civilservants involved in construction and reconstruction work, andAzerbaijan's military personnel, as well as to restore theconstitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan, anti-terroristmeasures have been conducted in the region on September 19-20,2023.

As a result of anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan restoredsovereignty and constitutional order in these territories, andArmenian armed forces based in the Republic of Azerbaijan'sKarabakh region were disbanded and removed from Azerbaijaniterritory.
