Passenger's Death Onboard Makes Biman Divert Flight To Kolkata

Dhaka: A passenger's death onboard a Dhaka-bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines made the carrier divert the plane to Kolkata in India on January 20.

After departing Kuwait for Dhaka, the flight had to make an emergency landing in Kolkata at 12:30 am on January 20 once the passenger fell ill mid-air.


A doctor at Kolkata Airport later declared the passenger passed away.

Biman later made arrangements to bring the departed passenger's remains back to Dhaka at the airline's own expense.


The passenger's identity was not disclosed.
