(MENAFN- KNN India) Ahemdabad, Jan 6 (KNN) Versuni India, formerly recognised as Philips Domestic Appliances, has inaugurated a new facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The facility will be dedicated to the production of air fryers and garment steamers.
While the company has not disclosed the exact investment figure, it has revealed that the initial capacity of the Ahmedabad plant includes the production of 500,000 air fryers and 200,000 garment steamers in its first phase. This capacity is designed to scale up to 1 million pieces as reported by Mint.
Over the next three years, the establishment of the new factory is expected to generate 1,000 jobs, comprising a combination of direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Henk de Jong, CEO of Versuni, commented on the announcement, stating“The inauguration of our Ahmedabad factory exemplifies Versuni's dedication to India as a strategic growth market, as we continue to deliver exceptional products and services that drive forward our purpose of turning houses into homes. Today, around 70 per cent of the products that we market to consumers in India are produced in this country. We aim to increase this to 90 per cent in the coming years thanks to the strategic decision to open up a new factory in Ahmedabad."
The focal point of this facility will revolve around the production of highly regarded flagship products such as Philips Air Fryers and Garment Steamers, aligning with the evolving preferences of Indian consumers.
To meet the escalating demand, Versuni is introducing the production of the air fryer in India for the first time, employing a fully integrated automatic robotic coating line.
The facility is designed to comply with all global standards, including Conformité Européenne (CE) certification, guaranteeing that our manufacturing processes align with the stringent quality benchmarks required by the international market.
The inauguration of the new factory comes after Versuni's entry into India's home security devices segment in 2023, which received a positive response in terms of consumer engagement and sales.
This development is in line with Versuni's commitment to adapting and expanding its product range to meet the evolving needs of the market.
