Yermak Calls On Leading Jewish Organizations In U.S. To Continue Supporting Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak called on the leaders of the leading American Jewish organizations to continue to support and provide assistance to Ukraine in order to speed up the victory over the common enemy.

That's according to the Ukrainian President's Office , Ukrinform reports.

As part of a working visit to the United States as part of the Ukrainian delegation headed by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko, Andriy Yermak held a meeting with the leaders of leading American Jewish organizations.

The meeting was attended by the executive director of the National Commission Supporting Eurasian Jewry (NCSEJ) Mark Levin, the head of the NCSEJ Allen Kronstadt, NCSEJ deputy director Lesley Weiss, program associate at the NCSEJ Ezra Hess, director of international affairs research of the Anti-Defamation League Aykan Erdemir, director international affairs at American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee Steve Schneider, Director of International Jewish Affairs, American-Jewish Committee Rabbi Andrew Baker, Executive Director, International Jewish NGO B'nai B'rith Daniel Mariaschin, Vice President of Public Affairs, Jewish Federations of the North of America Karen Paikin Barall, Executive Director of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Mark Hatfield, and Executive Director for World Jewish Congress U.S. and North America Betty Ehrenberg.

The Ukrainian side was represented by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, Oksana Markarova, advisers to the head of the President's Office Daria Zarivna and Vladyslav Vlasiuk.

Yermak thanked American Jewish organizations for their loyal support of Ukraine, which is fighting against Russian aggression, as well as for the humanitarian aid they provide to Ukrainian citizens. The head of the President's Office noted the contribution of American Jewish organizations to the fight against Russian propaganda and anti-Semitism.

"The destinies of our peoples are connected historically. And they are connected today. The peoples of Israel and Ukraine are equally fighting for the right to be. And to be themselves," Yermak emphasized.

He noted that the axis of evil, which includes Russia and Iran, as well as Hamas terrorists, is acting in the same way, killing children and capturing civilians, using Iranian-made kamikaze drones to destroy energy infrastructure.

"There are new challenges we're facing, and we all know who is most interested in starting new wars. These are Iran, Russia, North Korea. Ukrainians know what terrorist attacks on civilians are. We see that if the aggressors do not ultimately lose in Ukraine, they will continue this war elsewhere," the head of the President's Office is convinced.

Yermak called for further support and assistance to Ukraine in order to speed up the victory over the common enemy.

"The victory of Ukraine and the destruction of Russia's military potential will mean the destruction of the aggressors' plans, the reduction of the influence of terrorists around the world in general. Therefore, helping Ukraine means protecting the freedom and security of all people on the planet," the Office chief concluded.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Yermak discussed the priority needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces and the issue of Russia sanctions with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
