RTA reports significant progress in internal roads, street lighting project

(MENAFN) Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reported significant progress in its internal roads and street lighting project in the areas of Margham, Lehbab, Al Lisaili, and Hatta. As of Sunday, approximately 72 percent of the construction work has been completed. This extensive undertaking encompasses a total distance of 38 kilometers, which comprises both the construction of 19 kilometers of new roads and the installation of lighting poles along an additional 19 kilometers of existing streets.

Mattar Al Tayer, the Director-General and Chairman of the RTA, emphasized that this internal roads project has been initiated to address the evolving needs of demographic growth and urban expansion in Dubai. It plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for the emirate's residents by providing improved transportation infrastructure and street lighting.

In the Margham and Lehbab areas, the project involves a comprehensive scope of work, including road construction, the establishment of rainwater drainage networks, road paving, and the installation of street lighting. This development significantly benefits the approximately 14,000 residents living in these localities. In the case of Margham, the project entails the construction of roads along a 5-kilometer stretch, adjacent to Dubai-Al Ain Road, in close proximity to Skydive Dubai.

The Al Lisaili segment of the project extends over 7 kilometers, encompassing street lighting for existing roads in Saih Assalam near the Last Exit and Al Qudra Lakes, spanning a distance of 14 kilometers. This particular area caters to around 2,900 residents and not only enhances their quality of life but also improves the entry and exit points of the region.

In Hatta, the project involves the construction of roads extending over 2 kilometers, with specific attention to the Saa’eer, Al Salami, and Suhaila areas. This infrastructure development also integrates essential components like rainwater drainage and street lighting, benefitting around 6,000 residents. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing entry and exit points while facilitating the connection of the newly developed residential community with the broader road network.
