TURKEY - The HR Towards 2030 conference held in Istanbul on October 18 brought together representatives from the business and academic worlds. The agenda of the human resources (HR) event, which also shared the results of the Employee Development Agenda 2023 Research conducted by ETS Global and HRdergi, included the transformation of the business world and workforce. Evaluation of experiences that satisfy both the organization and the candidate and the expectations of the business world from young talents were among the topics discussed at the event.

The Zs will shape the future business world

Information about the research titled "Employee Development Agenda 2023" was announced by Akhan Özten, the Country Manager of ETS Global B.V. in Turkey, and Gülcan Çağlar Çalışkan, the Editor-in-Chief of HRdergi. Conducted in May, the research aimed to shed light on both the HR agenda for 2023 and the visions for 2030, with the prominent findings as follows:

82% of HR leaders state that their companies are not ready for the HR needs of 2030. More importantly, despite the expectation that Generation Z will constitute 30% of the workforce by 2030, 72% of HR leaders express that their companies still need to prepare for the Zs, who will shape the future business world with their lifestyles and different work preferences.

Digital transformation, agility, and data gain importance

According to the Employee Development Agenda 2023 Research, HR leaders unanimously agree that employees' multilingual skills are crucial in a world where boundaries are lifted. While English proficiency is considered important today and in the future, attention is drawn to the significance of measuring workplace English proficiency with a globally valid test.

The first expectations of HR leaders from new graduates are authenticity, openness to personal development, and technological knowledge, with 98% emphasizing the importance of multilingual skills. The three keywords that stand out for HR leaders in the journey towards 2030 are digital transformation, agility, and data.
