Moehe To Send Qatari Teachers Abroad For Training

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched a programme to send Qatari teachers from government schools to abroad for training to enhance their teaching skills.

Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi said that the new academic year will witness launch of a number of programmes to improve the level of services provided to kindergartens, expand nurseries, and increase community awareness about early education.

Addressing an annual educational meeting yesterday, the Minister said that the Ministry plans to launch several projects targeting students and developing school curricula to master basics and future skills that keep pace with developments and advancement of the technology.

She said that this is in line with what has been achieved in making digital education a means and method of learning for all stages, while ensuring that instilling and strengthening national values and identity in education programmes.

In the preparation of new academic year 2023-24, the annual educational meeting a three day event featuring a diverse array of training programs for school leadership and academic and administrative personnel began yesterday at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).

The event was attended by a large number of Ministry official and leaders of government and private schools.

“Following Qatar National Vision 2030, which is based on investment in the human resource, we announce the launch of a qualitative training programme 'Khibrat' (Experiences),” said the Minister of Education and Higher Education.

She said that the programme will target Qatari teachers in public schools to provide training for them in countries with advanced educational and training systems.

“The targeted teachers will receive an exceptional experience by participating in classrooms of different learning environments with their peer teachers in those countries, which will enhance the professional growth of Qatari teachers, and open up other horizons for them to learn based on sharing professional experiences with colleagues in other countries of the world,” said the Minister.

She said that the new academic year will witness an improvement in the policies and mechanisms of supervision and support for schools, which will ensure greater empowerment of school leaders in decision-making processes, with the aim of transforming schools into beacons of knowledge and an attractive environment for students and teachers.

“We firmly believe that education is a shared responsibility, in which the family and society contribute with all its institutions and individuals, in order to improve the quality of education and improve its outputs,” the Minister said.

She said that the Ministry has begun intensive work to develop comprehensive policies related to the quality of life of students, including the physical and psychological security and safety of students, their social participation, and the empowerment of people with disabilities among them through an intensive strategic programme, to develop policies and services provided to them, and make communication with parents to participate in the learning of their children.

“The celebration of the beginning of the academic year is represented in this annual meeting, in which we are pleased to meet with you to prepare to work together towards continuing to achieve the aspirations of our beloved country, Qatar, in the field of education,” said the Minister.

“Nothing reflects the success of this system more than the excellence of its outputs, represented in building integrated and balanced personalities who have good behaviour, and possess the knowledge and skills that qualify our students, not only to achieve academic success, but also to be good and active citizens in their society, adhering to values, proud of national identity, and participating in achieving sustainable development goals for their country and the world.”

She said that this educational meeting comes after the ministry successfully accomplished many of its goals, noting that there are goals that it will continue to work to achieve this year, in light of the continuous evaluation of its strategy, and in response to the observations and suggestions of school principals, teachers and specialists.

The Minister of Education and Higher Education also toured an exhibition by graduates of the“Tamheen” programme and the“Good Start” initiative. The exhibition associated to the annual educational meeting is showcasing the creativity of future teachers and their passion for the teaching profession and an inspiring educational atmosphere.

Educational expert Dr. Ibrahim Al Khulaifi gave a presentation on professional relationships within educational institutions and their impact on enhancing educational outcomes.

The annual educational meeting is an essential forum for building learning communities that contribute to achieving the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The meeting will be a promising opportunity to share experiences and benefit from them in improving educational strategies and practices in schools.

The organisation of this training programme at the beginning of the academic year comes within the framework of the continuous efforts emanating from the strategic directions of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

These directions seek to develop the leadership and specialised skills of all employees of the ministry, primarily academic and administrative cadres in schools, through training and professional development, which enables them to develop their performance and enhance their abilities to anticipate challenges and contribute effectively to achieving the goals related to their jobs.
