Galushchenko Discusses Restoration Of Ukraine's Energy System With State Department Representative


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko discussed the restoration of Ukraine's energy system with Laura Lochman, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Bureau of Energy Resources of the U.S. Department of State.

"Galushchenko informed [Lochman] about the restoration works on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure objects, which suffered from massive Russian attacks during the previous heating season, and pointed out the measures being taken to prepare the energy sector for the next winter," the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reports.

The minister emphasized the importance of distributed generation in this process and thanked the American side for providing a gas turbine that was installed to meet the needs of critical infrastructure. He said that the need for a further supply of gas turbines remained relevant.

During the meeting, Galushchenko and Lochman discussed possible U.S. support for the program to increase the domestic production of transformers in Ukraine.

Galushchenko thanked the American side for the assistance provided by the U.S. Department of State under the coordination of Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Geoffrey Payette to ensure the proper functioning of the Ukrainian energy sector in wartime conditions.

Earlier, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm discussed the problems of preparations for the new heating season in Ukraine.
