Ukraine appoints transgender to lead military's English-language propaganda


(MENAFN) Ukraine has appointed transgender reporter Sarah Ashton-Cirillo to lead the military's English-language propaganda efforts, according to local news site Strana on Tuesday.

Ashton-Cirillo, who came to life as a man and confessed to be a transgender 4 years ago, organize the state-sponsored news show ‘Russia Hates the Truth’, an official initiative of the Ukrainian Defense Forces with the stated goal of “countering Russian propaganda, disinformation and lies.”

The news agency shared a clip from the program's most recent edition, in which the purported voice of Kiev depicts the recent drone attacks in Moscow as the fulfillment of a "prophecy" by Ukrainian Leader Vladimir Zelensky and maintains that "Russia is defenseless, especially at home."

The reporter, who went to Ukraine in the past year to volunteer as a combat medic, also presents 'Ukraine in the Know,' that is characterized as the "official English language news show of the territorial defense forces."
