Steel products production climbs 5 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Steel product production in Iran climbed by five percent in the first three months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21) compared to the same period the previous year, according to the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).

According to the ISPA study, the nation's three-month steel product output was 5.957 million tons.

the data provided by the organization, Iran exported 3.199 million tons of steel goods in the preceding Iranian calendar year 1401 (which concluded on March 20).

Steel product exports declined by 6 percent in 1401, when compared to 1400, when the total was 3.406 million tons.

According to the World Steel Association (WSA), Iran would be ranked eighth amongst the world's top steel manufacturers from January to June this year.

According to the data, crude steel production in Iran totaled 16.1 million tons over the given six months, representing a 4.8 percent rise year on year.

According to the WSA, the world's top 64 producers produced around 943.9 million tons of crude steel over the specified time period, which is 1.1 percent fewer than the number for the preceding year's first half.
