30 Soldiers Killed In Mogadishu Suicide Bombing


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 30 soldiers have been killed in a suicide bombing in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, reports Reuters.

Monday's bomb attack, claimed by the Al Shabaab militant group, which said 73 soldiers were killed and 124 others injured.

The suicide bomber targeted the Jale Siyaad military academy in the capital, according to the media outlet.

It quoted a military official as saying:“We have confirmed 30 dead and 73 others injured at the military training camp.”

Meanwhile, VOA reported the bomber was wearing a military uniform. Somali soldiers and militias have been battling Al-Shabab since August last year.

In retaliation for the operations, the insurgent outfit has been conducting attacks on government and civilian sites.
