Morocco Debuts In Women’S Word Cup With Loss

São Paulo – In Morocco 's debut at the FIFA Women's World Cup this Monday (24), the Arab team lost 6-0 to the German team in the first match of Group H. It was the biggest rout (so far) in this tournament edition. It is the first time a female Arab team has participated in the competition.
German striker Popp scored twice in the first half at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Melbourne, Australia . In the second half, Germany increased the score count with goals by Bühl and Schüller and two own by Moroccans Aït El Haj and Mrabet. Germany leads Group H, which also includes Colombia and South Korea.
The next two matches for Morocco in the group stage will take place next Sunday (31) at 3:30 am GMT (1:30 am BRT) against South Korea and on August 3 at 10:00 am GMT (7:00 am BRT) against Colombia.

The Brazilian team also played its first match in the Women's World Cup this Monday (24) against Panama in Group F. With ease, the Brazilians won 4-0 at the Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide, Australia.
