(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The UN Secretary-General's spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, emphasized that Russia has not only suspended its participation in the Black Sea Grain Agreement but also withdrawn its security guarantees for the grain corridor. He said this at a press briefing on Monday, July 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports in New York.
Answering journalists' questions about the exact wording of Russia's letter to the Joint Coordination Center, in which it announced its withdrawal from the agreement, Dujarric said that it used the word "terminated".
He refused to quote the full sentence but noted that Russia had also withdrawn its security guarantees.

As reported, on Monday, the Russian side sent Türkiye, Ukraine, and the UN its objections to the extension of the grain deal and de facto suspended it.
The Black Sea Grain Agreement was signed in July 2022. Two documents were signed for this purpose: one with the participation of the UN, Türkiye, and Ukraine, and a separate one with the UN, Türkiye, and Russia.
The agreement has been extended several times.
