(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Russian invaders plan to build 25 more prisons in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region. "In the occupied territories, the Russians are not going to restore the destroyed housing and infrastructure but they are trying to use these areas as useful as possible for their own internal policy. Therefore, they plan to build 25 more prisons there, a large part of which should start operating in the so-called 'LPR' by 1 January 2026. There is nothing to eat, no place to live, but there is a place to be put behind bars," the Luhansk Regional Military Administration posted on facebook .
As the regional administration emphasized, being in a hurry to raise the loyalty to the Kremlin ahead of the so-called "first elections" scheduled for September, local collaborators issue passports to prisoners.
"The pressure is simple: it is forbidden to work in paid jobs while serving a sentence without a Russian passport, and the administration of institutions increases repression against those who refuse. They also threaten that it will not be possible to get social benefits and register at the employment service after release," the Administration noted.
As Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Artem Lysohor reported, "yesterday morning, the Russians fired about 20 MLRS shells at Novoliubivka. The destruction in the village was reported. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The neighboring Nevske and Bilohorivka also suffered from enemy artillery and air strikes."
According to Lysohor, "under the cover of aviation, the enemy tried to advance south of Novoselivske towards Stelmakhivka but all these attempts were stopped by our defense forces."
