Amman, July 6 (Petra)--Civil Aviation Regulatory commission (CARC), in cooperation with Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) ), held a workshop, under the theme: "Pathways and Strategies for Production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel".
According to a CARC statement on Thursday, the workshop aims to introduce opportunities and challenges facing production of sustainable aviation fuel in the Kingdom, provide a platform to discuss this issue and enhance cooperation among stakeholders, which would contribute to achieving Jordan's commitments towards zero carbon neutrality by 2050.
Use of sustainable aviation fuel contributes to achieving zero neutrality by up to 65% of carbon emissions arising from operations in the aviation sector, the statement said, citing studies in this field.
The workshop recommended future efforts and action to highlight the Kingdom's available capabilities in infrastructure, raw materials and legislation, and the necessary improvements to achieve the desired goals in this field.
The event also referred to steps aimed to attract investments based on detailed feasibility studies to reflect required costs, compared to benefits for production of sustainable aviation fuel, the statement noted.
