Kuwait Cabinet Reviews Preparations For 2023 Parliamentary Poll


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 5 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet Monday reviewed the latest preparations for the 2023 National Assembly elections due on Tuesday, tomorrow.
The Cabinet, during its meeting led by His Highness the Prime Ministersheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Seif Palace, sought to get reassured about the electoral process and measures made to facilitate voting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Fadhel said after the meeting.
The Cabinet instructed relevant bodies to help voters select their candidates easily amid democratic atmospheres, he added.
Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet on the efforts made by the relevant government agencies to deal with the fire broke out at the used tire's landfill in Al-Salmi area, that were led by the Kuwait Fire Force and the participation of the Kuwaiti army, the National Guard, the Environment Public Authority and the Kuwait Municipality.
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation to those efforts exerted for extinguishing the blaze, Al-Fadhel noted.
The Cabinet stressed the need for the KFF's investigation teams to take measures to ensure that such an incident will not occur again.
As part of the government's interest in upgrading education, minister Al-Fadhel and some officials of the Civil Service Commission made a presentation on the direct nomination of the distinguished universities' graduates to the posts and limiting the state-funded scholarships to the distinguished universities.
Out of the government's interest in youth and their new projects, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and senior officials of the Public Authority for Youth made a presentation to the Cabinet on the Kuwait Technical Entrepreneurship Complex project, the graffiti project to beautify public places, and the scheme on creating job opportunities to Kuwaiti students during the summer holiday.
Furthermore, Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi made a presentation to the Cabinet about the digital health strategy that consists of six main components.
Finally, Minister of Social Affairs, Women's and Childhood Affairs Mai Al-Baghli made a presentation on the designs for the overhauling of popular cafes in a way that integrate heritage into modernization, in line with Kuwait Vision 2035. (end) msa.hm
