Thailand's MFP leader establishes team to engage with government agencies

(MENAFN) Thailand's Move Forward Party (MFP) leader, Pita Limjaroenrat, announced on Tuesday that a transition team has been established following the country's May 14 elections. The team aims to actively engage with government agencies while ensuring they operate within the limits of the caretaker government's jurisdiction, as reported by local media.

Pita Limjaroenrat, aged 42, emphasized the pressing need to address critical issues such as drought concerns and ongoing negotiations regarding the potential Acquisition of Chinese submarines. He assured that the transition team would promptly handle these matters, according to Bangkok-based news website Khaosod.

The MFP, as the leading party in an eight-party coalition with 313 seats, signed an agreement outlining a common agenda to form the next government after securing a majority in the May 14 general elections in Thailand.

Headed by Pita, the transition team includes representatives from other parties and aims to tackle various crucial issues. These include energy prices, drought management, development in the southern region, drafting a new constitution, environmental challenges, cost of living, and combating drug-related problems.

The comprehensive memorandum of understanding, spearheaded by the MFP and endorsed by the eight-party coalition, outlines significant objectives such as constitutional reform, recognition of same-sex marriages, establishing sustainable peace in the southern border provinces, and revamping the justice system to ensure fairness and transparency.

As Thailand undergoes this transitional phase, the formation of the transition team reflects the coalition's commitment to addressing pressing concerns and implementing reforms in various areas of governance.
