The Israeli Occupation forces continue, for the 20th day in a row, to tighten military measures at al-Hamra checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley, an intersection that links the West bank and the Jordan Valley, disrupting as a result the movement of Palestinians.

Local sources reported that the occupation soldiers at the checkpoint stopped and checked the papers of occupants in vehicles, impeding their access to their places of work and farms.

More than two weeks ago, the occupation forces tightened measures at al-Hamra and other checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley and sealed all dirt roads used by farmers to reach their lands.

Long lines of vehicles are seen every day waiting to cross the checkpoints with some people saying that sometimes it takes them more than an hour to pass.

Army checkpoints also continue for the second week at all roads leading to the ancient city of Jericho in the south of the Jordan Valley, disrupting the movement of people in and out of the touristic city and causing very long delays, according to local sources.

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said the Israeli forces detained at least 10 Palestinians since yesterday at these checkpoints.
