China Feels No Responsibility To Hold Putin Accountable - Blinken

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has described Chinese leader Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow in the context of the International Criminal Court issuing an arrest warrant for Putin as China's refusal to hold the Russian regime accountable.

He said this at a press conference at the State Department on Monday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

'That President Xi is traveling to Russia days after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for President Putin suggests that China feels no responsibility to hold the Kremlin accountable for the atrocities committed in Ukraine,' Blinken said.

He added that instead of even condemning them, China would rather provide diplomatic cover for Russia to continue to commit those very crimes

Blinken on Monday called on China to support a peace formula earlier proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
