Doha: The Qatar Indian Management Association (QIMA) celebrated its 23rd Founding Day on March 13 at an event themed 'Managing the Unprecedented: Harnessing Uncertainty' held at the Westin Hotel.
The event was attended by eminent personalities and dignitaries from various fields who came together to celebrate the achievements of the organisation over the past 23 years.
The event began by the curtain-raiser and the welcome address delivered by Salim M Abdulkareem, President of QIMA. Dr. Nizar Kochery, Chairman & Founder President, gave a speech on“QIMA, Through 2 Decades”, which highlighted the organisation's journey so far. Video messages from prominent personalities were played, who shared their fond memories associated with QIMA.
These included messages from T.T. Thomas, Past President of AIMA and Former Managing Director of Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore, Sunil Alagh, Past President of AIMA, and Maj. Gen. D.N. Khurana, Past Director General of AIMA.
These messages served as a testament to the strong bonds and lasting relationships that QIMA has forged with the all India Management Association and its members over decades, and underscored the organisation's commitment to excellence in management and leadership.
The inaugural session was marked by the address of the Head of ILO Project Office for the State of Qatar Max
Tuñón who emphasised the importance of managing uncertainties in today's world. The event also witnessed the launch of the QIMA website by the renowned business leader and former Chairman of PepsiCo and Former CEO Emerging Markets Nokia, Mr. Shiv Shivakumar. Mr. Brian Buckley, Principal of AFG College with the University of Aberdeen did the felicitation speech during the inaugural session and praised QIMA's contribution to the business and management landscape in Qatar and congratulated the organization on its 23rd Founding Day.
The convention session began with video messages from the All India Management Association (AIMA) - Shrinivas V Dempo, President of AIMA, and Rekha Sethi, Director General of AIMA. In their video messages, they shared their greetings and appreciation for the QIMA's efforts in promoting excellence in management practices over the past two decades.
Their messages set the tone for the rest of the event, which saw a series of engaging and thought-provoking speeches. Dr. Prabhir Kumar Dash, Assistant Director – LMA Relations & Membership attended the event as a representative of the All India Management Association.
The highlight of the event was Shiv Shivakumar's keynote address on Managing the Unprecedented: Harnessing Uncertainty“.
The audience was left mesmerized by his inspiring and thought-provoking insights on the topic.
Shivakumar shared his extensive knowledge and experience, drawing from his illustrious career spanning several decades.
He emphasised the importance of resilience and adaptability in times of uncertainty and encouraged the audience to embrace change and be agile in their approach.
