Saudi Arabia’s Ma’aden seeks to grow cooperation with Bahrain’s Alba

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Mining Co., and Aluminum Bahrain, also recognized as Alba, have accepted to discover avenues for reinforcing collaboration in many sectors such as know-how and environmental, social, and governance standards.

The verdict to surge the collaboration among the two firms was made when Robert Wilt, chief executive of Ma’aden, in line with his delegates, held a meeting with Alba Chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa and its chief executive Ali Al Baqali at the Bahrain company’s office.

Throughout the gathering, which also had the presence of Alba’s executives and Deputy chief executive Abdulaziz Al Harbi, the two firms talked about the chance of possible collaboration upstream and supply-chain chances.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with Ma’aden; we also look forward to continuing our dialogue on areas of mutual interest as we work together to cement our positions as responsible aluminum producers,” according to Al-Khalifa.

He continued: “Such partnerships are what makes the Gulf Cooperation Council region a hub for responsible primary smelting and high-grade metal in the industry.”

Wilt pointed out that the two Ma’aden as well as Alba have a joint vision to establish and improve a regional aluminum powerhouse.

“By sharing ideas and knowledge, and working together to enhance our capabilities we will set new benchmarks for the industry in responsible operations, cost efficiency and most importantly positioning the GCC as a key ally in bringing resilience to the global aluminum supply chain. We look forward to strengthening our relationship and working more closely with Alba,” as stated by Wilt.
