French employees invade streets for 5th round of objections against government reform


(MENAFN) French employees invaded the streets in quantity on Thursday for a fifth time since January to object prepared pension reform, as said in media reports.

Employees from all industries carry on to show their protest to reform strategies showed by the administration last month.

Labor unions are forming strikes but the effect on public transport as well as railway traffic is minor, as reported by the Le Figaro newspaper.

Parisian domestic transport operator, RATP, as well as national railway firm, SNCF, did not declare main disturbances, according to the newspaper.

Lower than 10 percent of TotalEnergies employees are on the protest, Le Figaro stated, quoting firm representatives.

Collecting data from the Interior Ministry, local media reports as well as the unions, Le Figaro asserted that the protests were half the amount in big cities than on the most recent movement day on the 11th of February.

Protests were also occurring on Jan. 19, 31 and Feb. 7 and 11.
