Doha: The regional session of the 5th round of the Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue was held on Thursday in Doha.
The Qatari side was chaired during the session by the Assistant Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, while the American side was chaired by the Under Secretary of the US State Department for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland.
During the session, they discussed the close strategic relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them, and the latest regional and international developments, especially developments in the Iranian nuclear file, security and energy issues, as well as the latest developments in Libya, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Syria.
The latest developments in Palestine were also discussed. In this context, the two sides stressed the need for calm and de-escalation.
