English attacker Gordon completes transfer to Newcastle from Everton on long-term agreement


(MENAFN) Newcastle United announced on Sunday the inking of attacker Anthony Gordon coming from Everton on a long-term agreement between the player and the team.

"Since I heard of the interest, I was always convinced Newcastle was for me," Gordon expressed following the inking ceremony.

"I think the fan base and the city really suits me as a person, the way the team is playing under the gaffer at the minute really suits me, and the club just looks like they're heading in the right direction," he also mentioned.

The player who is only 21 years old managed to contribute in 13 goals in 78 games for Everton with 7 goals and 8 assists.

As reported by Sky Sports, Gordon transferred to Newcastle in a £45-million [nearly USD55 million] agreement from Toffees with a possible extra £5 million (USD6.1million) in a way of add-ons.

The long-term deal ranked him as the Premier League club's second highest price transfer.
