(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BERLIN, Jan 25 (KUNA) -- The German Government officially announced providing Ukraine with 14 (Leopard 2) battle tanks, Berlin government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said in a press conference on Wednesday.
Kyiv has requested the formidable tanks to boost its combat capacity in fighting Russian forces, in control of several Ukrainian regions.
Moscow sent its forces into neighboring Ukraine nearly a year ago at pretext that the country was tilting to be in the ranks of Russia's foe powers.
It had also declared annexation of some regions of Russian-speaking communities in the east of the country. (end)
