Coordination Headquarters: It's Very Difficult To Track Movement Of Captured Ukrainian Soldiers In Russia

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) It is extremely difficult to track the movement of captured Ukrainian service members in the territory of the Russian Federation or in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

'A representative of the Coordination Headquarters answered the questions of the relatives of the captured and missing gunners. According to him, it is extremely difficult to track the movement of captured Ukrainian service members in the territory of the Russian Federation or in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories,' the Coordination Headquarters for the treatment of Prisoners of War stated following an online meeting with the families of the defenders of the 55th Zaporizka Sich Separate Artillery Brigade.

It is noted that information about the likely place of detention of a prisoner can be obtained from those service members who returned from captivity.

As the Coordination Headquarters specified, the same applies to the health status of the captured service members: Russia does not officially provide such information.

'You can get such information from other sources: either from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), if its representatives visited the place of detention and interviewed a prisoner, or from service members who returned from captivity. And only with the consent of a prisoner, the ICRC can inform relatives or state authorities,' the institution stated.

If the family of a captured or missing service member has new information about the health status or injury, they are recommended to submit it to the Coordination Headquarters and the National Information Bureau.
