Bridgewater State University Students Visit The Peninsula

Doha: The students of media studies and communications at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts - United States of America, who are currently on a study visit to Qatar, visited the newspaper's office and met with the Editor-in-Chief of The Peninsula, Dr. Khalid Al-Shafi, on Monday.
The students were accompanied by Dr. Jabbar Al Obaidi, Professor of Media Studies and Communication Technologies, and the Academic Director of Global Programs at Bridgewater State University.
The students were given a tour of the newspaper office and witnessed the functions of different sections, where they were briefed on each section and editorial policy regarding the coverage of international and local news. The students were also briefed about the online presence of the newspaper where they were introduced to The Peninsula's website, social media platforms and heard of their massive popularity among the people in Qatar and beyond.

Dr. Jabbar Al Obaidi, who is visiting Qatar for the second time with students, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Editor-in-Chief for facilitating the visit.
Dr. Al Obaidi also said there is a plan to continue cooperation with The Peninsula by sending students from the Bridgewater State University for internships which was welcomed by the Editor-in-Chief Dr. Khalid Al-Shafi.
This was the second visit by a group of students of Bridgewater State University to The Peninsula office. Their first visit was in 2018.
Bridgewater State University has over 10,000 students and over 75,000 alumni in all 50 states of the US. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate courses.
