(MENAFN- Digital Jugglers) On November 26 and 27, 2022, the event called StarsCon was held for the first time in the Middle East, which took place at the World Trade Center in Dubai, and included the participation of Yuliana Grasman, known as Afra.
StarsCon is defined as a POP culture community, where participants share their admiration for series, characters and stories belonging to that culture. And taking into account that it was held for the first time in this region, the organizers decided to have the support of figures like Yuliana, who have large numbers of followers in the world of social networks, to promote the event.
On this occasion, Afra acted as an ambassador for the first edition of StarsCon in the Middle East, and the current influencer and gamer shared her experience with us.
How did you become an ambassador for the event?
My friend referred my account to the STARSCON administration and luckily they invited me. For her part, my friend could not participate, since her account was hacked. However, I feel very grateful that there are still people in the world who help others, just like my friend did with me. Thanks to her I was able to live this wonderful experience.
What was your role as ambassador?
I was acting out the overall experience and letting various people know about this event as it was first held in the Middle East. I did a raffle on my Instagram account offering as a prize, free tickets with entry for 2 days. Many people participated, and the winners were happy to attend STARSCON. In fact, some of them participated in the Cosplay competition. All this makes me very happy, since we were able to offer the opportunity to attend the event, to people who enjoyed it to the fullest.
What was the most special thing about the event for you?
This is something totally new to me having spent over 15 years in the auto community. But when I became a part of the gaming and live streaming community almost a year ago, that whole new world became a great experience. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to see the Cosplay competition, to meet incredible talents, a lot of people and I loved it. So I decided that I want to participate in the next Cosplay competition as well, and I'm already preparing for it.
In general, how would you describe your experience at the event?
For me it was a wonderful and completely new experience. Unfortunately, I didn't find many stores that sell cool Cosplay costumes. But I did hear that a lot of the contestants made their own costumes, and that was awesome and fabulous at the same time. Lots of talented kids were on stage showing off what they had achieved by making their own costumes. It was so much fun to watch! I met so many people and celebrities like Michael Cudlitz, who also signed his autograph on the sleeve of my sweater.
Would you participate in the next event again?
Of course! I'm looking forward to Comicon next year, one of the biggest Cosplay and gaming events I attended once a few years ago. But this time I want to be there as a participant and I will make my own costume.
