Iran to add 1,000MW in renewable volume by March 2023


(MENAFN) Iran’s renewable power generation volume is estimated to surpass 1,000 megawatts (MW) by the end of the present Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2023), as reported by IRNA on Wednesday, quoting Iranian energy Ministry’s news portal (recognized as PAVEN).

In line with the reports, the volume of the nation’s renewable power plants which amounts to 970 MW will jump to 1,120 MW with additional power plants which will start operating by the end of current Iranian calendar year.

Presently, more than 100 large-scale renewable power plants are functioning throughout Iran.

Iranian Energy Ministry prepares to increase 10,000 MW to the volume of the nation’s renewable power plants by the close of the present government’s administration (by the upcoming three years).

Previously this year, the ministry and some of the nation’s private contractors inked memorandums of understanding (MOU) for collaboration in the construction of the stated renewable power plants throughout Iran.
