AMMAN — Royal Court chief Yousef Issawi on Thursday attended the signing ceremony of three agreements meant to establish departments and branches of factories and companies located in the Al Jafer district in the southern Badia of Maan Governorate, and in the Um Al Jemal district in the northern Badia of Mafraq Governorate, as well as in Madaba's Al Faisaliah district.

The factories will be constructed under the Productive Branches Initiative, which was launched in 2008 per Royal directives.

The initiative is focused on establishing productive branches of factories and companies in specific villages, regions, and governorates to offer young people jobs and enable easier access to their workplaces after they receive training courses, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The first agreement is signed by Labour Minister Nayef Stetieh, who is also head of the Technical and Vocational Skills Development Council, and Brigadier General Pilot Mohammad Fathi Hyasat, commander of the Royal Air Force, who is also chairman of the board of directors of Takatuf Company for Agricultural and Industrial Investments.

Under the first agreement, the company will construct a production department in the field of aquaculture, which would generate 60 jobs for Al Jafer locals.

The second agreement, signed by Stetieh and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Golden Mask Company for Health Supplies Radwan Khattab, is meant to establish a production unit specialised in the medical garment industry in Madaba's Al Faisaliah district, which could create 150 jobs for local residents.

The third agreement is signed by Stetieh, Mayor of Um Al Jemal Hassan Rehaibeh and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mamari Chemical Company Ammar Hijazi.

The third agreement entails the construction of a production plant for UV-C plastic, which is used for doors and windows in Um Al Jemal on an area of 10 dunums of municipality land, which will provide 150 job opportunities.

Issawi, who is also head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal initiatives, said that the Productive Branches Initiative enhances cooperation and effective partnership among the Ministry of Labour and the private sector, as well as the follow-up committee.
