Tehran: agreement in Vienna provides that Iran’s national interests are respected


(MENAFN) Iran and its discussion associates are close to regain the 2015 nuclear agreement provided that Tehran's redlines and fundamental interests are appreciated, Iran's Foreign Ministry representative Nasser Kanaani informed a regular a press meeting on Monday.

Discussions have been and are being hosted at the top levels in Tehran, as stated by the representative, mentioning consultations on the European Union's most recent offers for regaining the 2015 nuclear agreement and lifting anti-Iran restrictions.

When enquired if an agreement could be attained in Vienna, Kanaani mentioned that talks for lifting anti-Iran restrictions are still underway.

The diplomat stated that “We continue negotiations, which began in Vienna, then in Doha, and most recently in Vienna again,” adding “As you know, the negotiating team took part in the talks to reach a good and enduring deal to pave the way for the lifting of anti-Iran harsh sanctions.”

Kanaani noted, “We had intensive conversations and made some progress” in Vienna which the last meeting was on the 8th of August.
