Turkey’s daily energy usage drops by 11 percent on Aug. 7


(MENAFN) Based on the official data released by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday, daily energy usage in Turkey declined by 11 percent on Sunday in comparison to the day before, standing at 908,561 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 41,529 megawatts per hours at 9:00 pm regional time (1800 GMT). At 7:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 31,966 megawatts per hours (0400 GMT).

On Sunday, there were 895,837 million megawatts per hours of electricity produced, which is an 11.2 percent reduction from Saturday.

19.8 percent of the total amount of electricity produced was produced by imported coal factories, with the remaining 18.42 percent and 18.40 percent coming from wind and natural gas power factories, correspondingly.

The nation's electrical exports on Sunday were 10,924 megawatts per hours, whereas its imports were 23,647 megawatts per hours.
