After discussions to recover JCPOA Iran cautions US "hours in Vienna are decisive”

(MENAFN) Discussions to recover the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which started on Thursday finished with Iran cautioning the United States that “hours in Vienna are decisive.”

On Friday, Iran’s head representative Ali Bagheri Kani hosted a conference with Russia’s head negotiator, Mikhail Ulyanov.

The gathering came after two consecutive conferences among Bagheri Kani and Enrique Mora, director of the JCPOA recovery discussions.

After the gathering with Bagheri Kani, Ulyanov published on twitter that “Yet another productive meeting with the Iranian counterparts at the #ViennaTalks on the #JCPOA.”

“Apparently all sides are arriving at consensus on the final text. It may be not very easy, but time will show if we succeed,” Mikhail Ulyanov informed IRNA, highlighting that the environment is “business-like.”

When enquired around the additional draft offered by the European Union, Ulyanov declined assumptions around the EU-offered draft being a new text, stressing: “I believe this is misinterpretation, there is no EU text, and there is a common text to which the EU coordinators introduces a number of modifications. So it’s not EU text, it’s a common legacy which remains on the table and is being discussed. The Iranian side also introduced its suggestions which goes further compared to the European modifications.”
