Iran reiterates its support for Palestinians in face of Israel's expansionist actions

(MENAFN) Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran's Foreign Minister, has reiterated the Islamic Republic's commitment to the Palestinian cause, saying Tehran will continue to help the oppressed Palestinian country against the "apartheid" Zionist regime's expansionist objectives.

In a meeting with Gaza-based Islamic Jihad movement Secretary General Ziad al-Nakhala in Tehran on Tuesday evening, Amir-Abdollahian also urged for solidarity and cohesiveness among Islamic countries in the face of the Israeli regime's assault against Palestinians.

Referring to Israel's and the United States' failures against the Palestinian resistance, Iran's top diplomat expressed hope that the enemy will be further weakened by growing harmony and solidarity among Islamic nations.

Nakhala, for his part, praised Iran's support for the Palestinian people's struggle, as well as the country's positive role in regional developments and active diplomacy with other nations.

Iran's successes, he claims, belong to the whole Muslim community.

Nakhala also criticized regional efforts to put pressure on the Islamic Republic while downplaying the genuine threat the Israeli state provides to the Muslim community, particularly Palestinians.
