Biman Receives Nod To Fly From Dhaka To Kunming, Guangzhou

Dhaka : Biman Bangladesh Airlines is now permitted by the Civil Aviation Authority of China to launch flights on Dhaka-Kunming and Dhaka-Guangzhou routes. 
Hualong Yan, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of China in Bangladesh, said this in a social media post on July 25, 2022.
'The approval will further facilitate travel of students and business communities between the two countries,' he added in his post.
The national flag carrier of Bangladesh Biman will be the second airline from the country to receive permission for operating flights in China, after the largest private carrier US-Bangla Airlines. 
The private airline currently operates one weekly flight on Dhaka-Guangzhou route.
On this occasion, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Zahid Hossain said they are yet to get an official announcement from the Chinese authorities in this regard.
'We are initially planning to operate flight on Dhaka-Guangzhou route with our Boeing 777 aircraft,' he noted.
