Aqaba Port Welcomes Exploration Ship For Marine Research

AMMAN — The largest and most advanced ship for exploration research in the world docked in Aqaba on Monday to implement a scientific mission with 'unprecedented, high-level' potential, in cooperation with the US Ocean X and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). Nidal Majali, the tourism and environment commissioner at ASEZA, told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the visit of this exploration ship is part of Royal directives for a project to establish an international centre for sciences and the Aqaba marine reserve. He noted that the ship will contribute to promoting Aqaba as a tourist and scientific destination for marine research, in addition to attracting scientific and qualitative initiatives. ASEZA Chief Commissioner Nayef Bakhit and Majali on Monday received businessman Ray Dalio, the financier of the mission, at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba.
