(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, June 23 (KUNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian called on the US to resolve to realistic standards to reach a nuclear agreement between Iran and the 4+1 group in Vienna.
In a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Tehran on Thursday, Amirabdollahian noted that the nuclear negotiations reached a 'difficult point,' adding that Iran is still willing to reach a strong, sustainable agreement.
As for his talks with Lavrov, the Iranian official said that they had discussed key topics including the situation in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and Ukraine.
The two sides also discussed the cooperation agreement, hoping they would hold meetings for experts in the near future, to complete the agreement's guidelines and allow the Iranian and Russian parliaments to vote on it.
Meanwhile, Amirabdollahian said that they discussed cancelling entry permits for both countries' nationals, starting with trade permits as a first step.
He added that Russia sent its first shipment to India through Iranian land.
Moreover, the official thanked Russia and China for opposing a draft resolution issued by the US, Germany and France to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), criticizing Iran for not fully answering the agency's questions on uranium traces at undeclared sites.
The resolution was agreed on by 30 member-countries out of 35, while India, Pakistan and Libya refrained from voting. (end)
