PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Some residents of central Logar province have demanded the resumption of work on half-completed development projects.

The second Kabul-Logar road, industrial park, airport, Khoshi-Mohammad Agha road and a power sub-station are some of such projects.

Launched by the previous government, work on the schemes came to a halt following the Taliban's takeover in August last year.

Khayal Nabi, a resident of Pul-Alam, said several development projects started by the past government could not be completed. People were desperate for their early completion, he commented.

Nabi urged the government and aid agencies to facilitate the completion of development and public welfare projects.

“I want the government and donors to provide funds for the half-done development schemes in the capital and districts of Logar.”

Haji Ghulam Sarwar, hailing from Mohammad Agha district, said people wanted the completion of key development projects such as the second Logar-Kabul road, industrial park, cricket stadium, power sub-station and the airport.

He asked the World Bank to resume funding for development projects in the province.

Umar Mansour, the governor's spokesperson, told Pajhwok Afghan News a delegation had been tasked with determining how many development projects remained incomplete in the province.

“Relevant institutions in Logar and Kabul are striving to resume work on half-completed projects after a decision by the High Economic Council,” headed.
