Last night, the Afghan Under-16 National Football Team played the Kyrgyz national football team in the inaugural encounter of the Central Asian Championship, which concluded in a one-on-one draw.

The competition took place in Tajikistan last night, on Friday, May 13th. Hakim Khan Niazi scored the sole goal for Afghanistan in this match.

“It was our first game, and both teams played well,” Hamidullah Massoudi, the national team coach, remarked. All of the teams have arrived with the goal of winning. Football is a sport of chance. We missed a number of chances and would have won the game tonight if our chances had resulted in goals.“Overall, I'm not happy with the game's outcome.”

Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran will compete in the Central Asian Championship, according to the Afghan Football Federation.

The Afghan Football Federation has announced that the country's national team will play Uzbekistan in its second match today.

However, with the Taliban taking control of Afghanistan, Afghan athletes have faced many problems and, due to restrictions, have shone less in outdoor competitions.

The Afghan national futsal team previously competed in the Asian Cup qualifying matches in Kyrgyzstan, however with a defeat, a win, and a tie, they were unable to advance to the Asian Cup.
